Seriously tho, apart from the bromance between Xiao Guang and Xiao Liang (which I am immensely grateful for so thanks again iQIYI), this live action is beyond my expectations. It's not very often that an adaptation is this good, all the characters are doing great

Hikaru Shindo/Shi Guang, played by Hu Xian Xu (dob 17 August 2000)

He's such a talented actor, he portrays Hikaru so naturally that I sincerely feel like he's the real Hikaru. Great job, I definitely will check more of his works now that I've discovered this gem

Akira Touya/Yu Liang, played by Hao Fu Shen

Not gonna lie, I had a huge crush on Akira when I was reading the manga back then (who didn't??), and this guy right here is doing a really good job portraying him. Every time he appears I immediately smile lol, he's so handsome

Fujiwara no Sai/Chu Ying, played by Juck Zhang

Sai is probably the character with the most sad background.. His entire life revolves around Go, both in his past life and in Hikaru's time, and that is primarily the reason why he even got the chance to play Go again, twice...

We're not at all that sad part yet, so Chu Ying is the funniest character of the show for now
I love the way Juck Zhang perfectly portrays Sai and his antics, his cute whinings at the beginning when he oh so stubbornly begged Xiao Guang to let him play Go at any given chance

I love this scene so much. There isn't much of romance in the manga (if any); Akari was clearly in love with Hikaru, and there could've been a slight hint of Mitani having feelings for Akari, and there was no mention at all about Isumi and Asumi's love story.

But I think iQIYI created the Go training camp arc not only to introduce the new characters Asumi/Bai Xiao Xiao and Isumi/Shen Yi Lang (who will be very important to Hikaru's personal growth), but also because of the lack of romance in the story. It'd be too boring otherwise?

So we got Bai Xiao Xiao and Shen Yi Lang as the first ship

Mitani/Gu Yu and Akari/Ming Ming as another one.
I mean, telling her the chocolate she made tasted good even though it was too strong is self explanatory I believe

And last but definitely not least, each sitting on the opposite side of the bench, Xiao Liang and Xiao Guang
The bromance between these two is extremely satisfying. My heart feels full knowing there is finally someone other than me who thinks their chemistry is legit
