mari's christmas market ranking, a thread

Schallaburg, Lower Austria
god tier 1000/10
I visit every year on my birthday
fire show in the castle garden
u can buy gorgeous jewellery, handmade soaps, regional products and the most wonderfully smelling frankincense in the old cellar

Melk, Lower Austria
my hometown, so obligatory 10/10
pretty, small town vibes
always full of people I know
the music school choir is great
I once sang a song from Anastasia on that stage it was fun
krampuslauf is a must see

Grafenegg castle, Lower Austria
gorgeous location
fancy concerts
overrun by viennese visitors usually
spent like an hour in line to get a parking spot
7/10

St. Wolfgang, Upper Austria
amazing
wonderful
gorgeous
I bought a wooden carousel music box
it snowed when we were there, 100/10 fairytale christmas vibes

Schönbrunn, Vienna
amazing
10/10
we went there in elementary school and made ginger bread in the old castle bakery
there was a booth full of sparkly star shaped christmas tree ornaments made of colourful glass pearls, 8 y/o me was enchanted

Rathausplatz, Vienna
beautiful
but very big and very crowded
the best known among tourists
everyone hypes it up so I'm retracting a point, 9/10

Graz, Styria
went there with my friends after our study sessions and exams when I lived there
a highlight
there's actually like 10 of them scattered all throughout old town
and one on the castle hill
I miss it so much 15/10
