it’s hard to say this because i don’t want to come off as invalidating, but there are some forms of abuse/trauma that are more stigmatized than others (not worse, but more stigmatized). i don’t lose followers for tweeting about emotional abuse but i do for tweeting about incest

it’s not a coincidence that csa/incest is virtually an insta-no in YA. i can honestly only think of 2 recent YA books that deal with these topics at all

(for ref, they are the feverwake series by @sosaidvictoria and starfish by @AkemiDawnBowman). i can’t overstate how grateful i am that this rep exists at all

anyway PLEASE support these books/authors so we can have more like them, and listen to survivors
