Q: What got you into making, to begin with?
A: I’ve always had an itch to make things, and I have to thank my Dad for teaching me how to use tools at a young age… and I still learn things from him today!
Q: What inspired you to do or make what you are making now?
A: When I was introduced to the world of resin casting, I had a yearning to push the limits of what is capable with resin casting. I love to experiment with new materials to embed and new techniques to try out with resin
Q: What got you started with resin?
A: Living in Nevada, the state flower is sagebrush. I wanted to be able to use it in my work, and I stumbled across resin as a means to get to that end. My brain exploded with all kinds of new ideas that and I was hooked!
Q: What’s the biggest “fail” project you’ve done?
A: I’ve had many failures over the course of my journey with resin casting. It’s tough because even in failure I learn something, and many times you can fix or repurpose projects. I think the one that really sticks out...
...was when I accidentally dumped half a bottle of dye into a cup of resin because the tip of the dye bottle came off. The casting was completely ruined before I got it in the mold. Although I learned something, this was a lesson I would have rather been told to watch out for!
Q: What motivates you to #KeepMaking?
A: I think the biggest factor for me is the maker community. There are so many generous, kind, and amazingly creative people in our community, it compels me to strive to keep making and sharing.
