For years I ran a support group for parents of children with autism & disabilities. One of my parents had a severely disabled son, over the years they became my friends & after leaving stayed in touch. Her son like mine was born an accidental american. 1/9

Unlike my son her son was unable to renounce due to his disability & she couldn't renounce on his behalf. He had received disability benefits that allowed them to keep him at home. FATCA changed that, faced with being unbanked she got his ssn & settled back taxes 2/9

Together with the social services in her country they came up with a solution which worked well pre-covid. He would move into a full time care home, the benefit being paid to the home. She took a lot of crap from others telling her "they'd never..." 3/9

She did what was necessary for his well being, the US greed & inaction of EU & local government left her no choice if she wanted her son to receive the level of care he needed. After much research she found a home that she was comfortable with 80 km from their home. 4/9

At first it was hard but as they adapted it turned out to be a positive change for both of them. He was able to socialise with others like him & the staff very caring. She couldn't be there everyday but with tech able to face time etc She still would have rather have him home 5/9

When COVID hit the home did what it could to protect its residents this last wave took her son. She's been blaming herself because had he been home she could have kept a tight bubble protecting him. The home did their best but staff don't live onsite raising risk 6/9

COVID may have been the cause of death on the certificate but for me it will always be the greed of the US & the inaction of countries when their own people are being persecuted for imaginary crimes staying silent and not standing up to the US. 7/9

I had been trying to do a series of videos when received this news. I wanted to present a no bells & whistles talk about the reality in a calm & rational manner. This has left me so angry, hurt & can't talk without tears of frustration & pain 8/9

I want to tell those that have accused every american abroad criminals, tax cheats & traitors to go to hell - it's my emotional state right now - it's a vain hope some of those will read this & join the fight against tyranny & injustice for people like "Billy". 9/9
