Thinking about @seanfeucht's plans for a large gathering at Azusa Street. The contrasts between Feught's gathering and the original revival that occurred there in 1906 are striking.
William Seymour, leader of the 1906 meetings, was so overwhelmed by the presence of God that he conducted the meetings sitting behind a large wooden shoe crate. He did not want the meetings to be about him; he wanted to give God the glory.
The Azusa meetings were led by a black man, and the Los Angeles press criticized the gathering as a "darkie meeting." Part of Feught's agenda is to counter the Black Lives Matter meetings with Praise Gatherings. Azusa 1906 was the message that not only does black lives matter,
they are anointed to usher in a great move of the Spirit. Whites had to either submit to the shame of submitting to the leadership of blacks-to the point of being ordained by blacks or leave.
Parham, a racist white man, who saw himself as the appointed leader of the revival traveled to Azusa Street to "take control" from the hands of his inferiors. Seymour locked him out of the church.
I've poured over photos of @seanfeucht's gatherings. As far as I can tell they are 95% white. I would recommend that at the Azusa gathering, Feucht respect his heritage & step aside. Let a black woman lead the meeting. A black woman wearing a mask.
