how to stay dedicated
while learning a new language
• • • a thread >>
before i go into this thread please know that you should eat and drink well while studying, take time for yourselves the language your learning isn’t going anywhere <3
don’t feel stressed out if you don’t study for a day, work out a schedule for days we’re you’ll learn and maybe take a day or two off so you can take care of your self !
set yourself achievable goals, doing this will make you feel that your progressing which will motivate you in learning the language you want to learn !
let’s say you don’t feel like learning the language today because you want to go out to the park because it’s nice outside, maybe you can study while your at the park and sitting in the sun! it’s a win-win situation!!
staying consistent is essential when learning a new language !! try and study at least an hour a day (except break days), hopefully until it eventually becomes a normal part of your day !!
once you reach an achievable goal you should reward yourself for your hard work !! why not take the next day off from learning as a reward !! or maybe treat yourself to some nice food !!
mix up the the ways you learn !! watch a move and listen to the pronunciation, write down what you did yesterday, read a book or listen to podcasts. learning the same way could get tiring so it’s good to change it up !
try and get back that motivation from when you first started learning the language, think about why you chose to learn that language?!
personally i make learning fun by making cute journals or writing cute little notes on sticky notes! this could make learning the language more exciting since you get to decorate a different page everyday !!
and the last thing i can say is go at your own pace, learning languages takes time and you shouldn’t feel bad for learning at a slower pace then others, those other people could of been learning languages for years !! look after yourself, you will eventually learn the language dw
