A thread of some highlights from the "independent report" commissioned by #kwasizabantu. Just before the weekend, a glowing "summary of findings" was released. After the weekend, reasons for delaying the main report became apparent. https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/south-africa/2020-11-21-lawyers-kwasizabantu-probe-clears-mission-of-string-of-allegations/
We start off with a disclaimer. The panelists say they are not properly qualified on what appears to be the primary question facing them: Whether or not Kwasizabantu is a cult. And that they "also had very limited time".
For academic guidance on what a cult is, why would an independent panel choose to consult academics with links to Kwasizabantu?
Did you know Kwasizabantu used to have a description of cults/sects on its website, until it was discovered and shared by insiders? It appears the panel didn't ask them why it was removed. https://web.archive.org/web/20190927211125/https:/www.ksb.org.za/10-marks-of-a-sect/
An accurate conclusion at the end of the section on "control over thoughts". Now if only they would think through the viscous consequences that ensue for dissenters.
Perhaps it's rather "everyone who doesn't spontaneously adhere to the slavish rules and regulations is quickly made into a former member".
Dorothy Newlands entangles herself in a little #amasu.
OR.... it could be that those who do not conform are excommunicated. Did the panelists forget the hypothesis/allegation they were testing?
Marriage and dating at Kwasizabantu. Would have been more complete with a picture of Erlo Stegen standing between the couple.

Those who charm you and help you avoid painful truths don't.
I didn't want to address this in public and I really can't understand why the panel approached neither me nor my wife to test this privately first.
