i have a twilight theory: bella states in the first book how much she loved phoenix and hates forks due to the weather and small population, but overtime she starts to love forks. i believe it is because forks represents her personality more. it’s quiet, reserved, and dreary +
while phoenix is loud, public, and bright it matches renée’s (bellas mother) personality better. and throughout the series it is revealed that bella did a lot to make her mom happier and less stressed, which included dealing with the bills, cleaning, cooking, etc. +
overall, bella spent most of her life making her mother happy. bella even moved to forks just so her mother could travel with her husband while he played baseball. bella went to forks so her mom could live the life she wanted, even though it meant that bella would suffer. +
bella did not like forks, was not close with her father, and was very uncomfortable being in new situations. she believed she would be unhappy in her new home, which was true at the beginning. to finish off this painfully long thread +
bella associates herself with forks at the end of the series because she grew to being more than her mother’s rock and support system.
end of thread.
