Former labor VP, Ana Avendaño, said she was fired after Richard Trumka, the president of the AFL-CIO, complained about her work on sexual harassment within the labor movement.
“Trumka objected to me ‘defaming good guys who have passed through his shop’ and ‘got caught up in the #MeToo stuff,’” Avendaño said she was told by the CEO of United Way.

The nonprofit fired her b/c they said she was bullying her employees. Painting her as an 'angry Latina.'
She describes a meeting with HR in which they told her, "It's your tone" and "you're very aggressive".. they told her she was "reacting emotionally."
Another woman, chief marketing officer Lisa Bowman complained about the "creepy" behavior of a peer. There were multiple complaints about him made to HR.

She was fired. The HR person investigating complaints against this man lost their job.

The man has been promoted.
