1/ "So what& #39;s this all about, Kyle?"
I can& #39;t tell you how many times I& #39;ve heard that question since September when I first shared that I would be releasing a song I& #39;d written and professionally recorded.
Well, today, I& #39;m finally able to offer details about what& #39;s been going on!

2/ For most of you, "Hot Chocolate Weather" probably seemed like something of a novelty item. Maybe you got a chuckle out of it, or maybe you made it part of your fall playlist because you enjoyed it.
Either way, it very easily could have seemed like something of a one-off.

3/ I& #39;m excited to say that it& #39;s much more than just a one-off.
First, though, let me tell you how things began.
Music has always been an enormous part of my life — but, with only a handful of exceptions, it has been a private part of my life.
That changed this year.

4/ In January, I rented a recording studio for the first time ever.
I can& #39;t even begin to tell you how nervous I was. I sang my song at a whisper during the practice sessions. But I eventually found confidence.
Now, that song is set to be the lead single on my first album.

5/ Yes, I wrote a *full album*
Not long after that January session, the onset of the pandemic presented me with an unexpected gift: time.
That& #39;s how I ended up writing enough songs to fill an entire LP.
So when the studio reopened in June, I started recording again.

6/ Yesterday, we wrapped the last major recording session, which we had to do in my apartment because of the pandemic.
Save for a couple of loose ends, this thing is now moving into post-production.
It& #39;s on schedule to be released early next year.

7/ The album itself has a very different sound than "Hot Chocolate Weather."
It reflects so many of my influences.
It& #39;s pop-punk. It& #39;s & #39;90s rock. It& #39;s Relient K. It& #39;s Bruce Springsteen. It& #39;s The Beach Boys. It& #39;s Foo Fighters. It& #39;s playful. It& #39;s emo.
And it tells a story.

8/ There is so much more I want to share with you, but we& #39;ve got plenty of time between now and the release.
Thank you all so much for the support you have shown over the past month and a half. It means the world to me
