Myth 1) 1,000 passengers on these flights. We had an average of 80 people per day arriving from US last week.
Myth 2) Tourists. Pubs shut, restaurants shut, shops shut, you can’t sit in a cafe for a coffee & yet you seem to think tourists are coming here in their thousands?

Our passenger numbers were down by 93% last week compared to same week last year. The @HPSC’s epidemiology reports show that since the pandemic started, 1.4% of all cases were linked to “travel abroad inc possible travel abroad”. In past 14 days, 0.17% of cases were imported

This country has been dependent on tourist visitors and trade for generations and we look forward to a time in the near future when we can welcome visitors back in their droves to experience the many wonderful things that Ireland has to offer.

We originally posted this thread as there are many nonsense posts from people in relation to this issue. We have amended the original thread to remove the quoted post as people were attacking the tweeter. Our intention was to highlight rubbish & address it not provoke an attack.
