Dr Moncef Slaoui, the head of Operation Warp Speed said Americans may have access to highly anticipated and awaited covid-19 vaccine."So I expect maybe on day two after approval on the 11th or the 12th December," said Slaoui.
Operation Warp Speed (OWS) is a public–private partnership, initiated by the U.S. government to facilitate and accelerate the development, manufacturing, and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics.
Operation Warp Speed was introduced in early April 2020, after a round-table meeting with industry executives at the White House on March 2.
It will promote mass production of multiple vaccines based on preliminary evidence allowing for faster distribution if clinical trials confirm one of the vaccines is safe and effective.
The plan anticipates that some of these vaccines will not prove safe or effective, making the program more costly than typical vaccine development, but potentially leading to the availability of a viable vaccine several months earlier than typical timelines.
Kathin Jansen says that the company was not helped financially by the program and they've never taken any money from the US government or anyone else. New York Times Reported.
The news of vaccine comes as a relief to so many countries suffering from the negative impacts of the Corona virus in the economy.
Most developing countries ain't sure how long it might take before this vaccine lands on them. Cases are expected to rise in so many countries maybe before this vaccines are approved for supply in third world and developing countries.
We ain't sure when other countries will get access to their vaccine.
Americans are continuing to travel around the world which is a risk factor because cases will definitely continue to rise as they celebrate "ThanksGiving." We've been told over and over that staying at home is the best way to protect yourself and others this year.
It's alleged that the vaccine is with over 90% efficiency rates.
