I told her there wasnt one, in fact there are 3 that horribly stand out. I patrol a large city, these are common jobs
Im 4 years in service (rounding up a couple of months) and no ones asked me that before. Too see what affects us the most here are the jobs i gave her as a reply

10 months service, call to a domestic assault. The house was a blood bath. 2 kids with hand prints on their necks and clumps of hair missing. Mom with a refractured arm and beaten to a pulp.

Job 2.
4 days before xmas, cradling the tiny form of a 10 month old whilst grandma bawls her eyes out. Child crying and struggling to sleep.
Beaten black and blue, I had to take photos of every injury of that tiny innocent child. 50+ photos were taken by me that shift

Mom had a new jealous partner, turns out he had done this to the child before.
Im often referred to as a badly shaved gorilla stuffed into a police uniform. Im not afraid to say I drove to the nick after, opened the boot sat there and cried my eyes out.

A 5 year old, telling me she has been sexually assaulted by moms new drug dealer partner. Not for the first time either. Then me having to tear that screaming child away from the one person who should be protecting her. Again she let him in knowing his past
These jobs all have male offenders, the victims all children. Each one with a parent that was supposed to defend and look after them.
Each time innocent children have been injured, each time ive picked up the pieces.
These are the jobs that have affected me the most.

But truly innocent victims that shouldve been protected are ones that hit you the hardest. The ones that remain with you
