- Sir Alex was appointed on November 6th, 1986 at a time which the club was struggling to compete. From that year, Ferguson transformed the club, with very little financial use, if not at all. Pep Guardiola on the other hand has only joined clubs that have high financial powers
- Sir Alex relied on his youth players. He always during his career as a manager put his faith in the young. Pep has not produced many world class players from his academy. Sancho and Foden are perhaps the best academy players to come out of city's academy.

It is important to note that Sir Alex was not as successful as Pep in the UCL, with Pep winning a trophy at two of the three clubs he had managed (BARCA and Bayern). Pep's Barcelona team most notably beat United in a UCL Final, with an exceptional performance from Messi
However, Sir Alex managed to win multiple Premier league and domestic trophies. Before I get angry plastic ( I mean City Fans) coming after me, yes I do realise that Pep has been in England shorter than Sir Alex. But Sir Alex has done so with a limited transfer budget than Pep
Tactically, in the season which City were the Centurions, Pep was on point. Pep displayed his brilliant style of play at Barca, implementing the tiki taka display of play.
Sir Alex might not have been good at tactics but his ability to motivate a squad, to make them play well even when they were tired or even when the circumstances were impossible in my opinion, outweighs Pep's tactics
Conclusion- Sir Alex is clear of Pep
