Genuine question: Isn't it time that we moved on from asking womxn to re-live the trauma of violence they face through our campaigns? Also soliciting & sharing stories (full disclosure, I used to write alot of these myself), reiterating prevalence rates etc.
By constantly displaying certain kinds of violence, the public begins to play judge & jury about what kind of violence is more acceptable than others, & also what stories are 'real/fake'. While there is talk of shaming the perpetrators, are we really doing that?
I've seen some fantastic public campaigns from young feminists more recently- that shine a light on our collective culpability & accountability for a violent & misogynistic society- but they still remain on the margins. Is it possible to shift our campaign language? Is it enough?
