Hey.

I see this happening a lot in the current discourse so I think we need a reminder.

*we do not compare race and racism to disability and ableism*

They are not the same thing.

Many people experience both. And those people *often* ask the rest of us to stop doing this.
Who can compare anti Black racism to ableism?

- people who experience both

Who should not do that?

- disabled people who aren& #39;t Black
(Well, anyone who isn& #39;t Black obvs. It& #39;s just always disabled ppl doing it because tbh abled ppl are rarely talking about ableism in the first place)

Y& #39;all think it& #39;ll make people take ableism seriously, but it just minimizes the experiences of Black ppl (esp Black disabled ppl)

Also - @photon_barrier is not Black (if I& #39;m remembering correctly - so sorry if I& #39;m wrong https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😖" title="VerblĂŒfftes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: VerblĂŒfftes Gesicht">) but is a POC

*please listen to disabled BIPOC when they talk about these things* https://twitter.com/photon_barrier/status/884808765790445568?s=19">https://twitter.com/photon_ba...
I know that was a slightly random tweet to link since it was a direct response to a now deleted tweet https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😅" title="LĂ€chelndes Gesicht mit offenem Mund und Angstschweiß" aria-label="Emoji: LĂ€chelndes Gesicht mit offenem Mund und Angstschweiß">

but it had the keywords I was Twitter searching for from people I follow https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👀" title="Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Augen">
Also also if you are a disabled BIPOC who has written a tweet, thread, or blog post on this topic & want me to link it in this thread to boost & educate more people, please send it my way! I& #39;d love to add more resources to this thread!
