Quick recap: On 26 October, the CIC issued an interim order in @OfficialSauravD's complaint and summoned CPIOs from MeitY, NeGD and NIC to explain why they should not be penalized for obstructing access to information by providing evasive replies. 2/n
Despite multiple requests, the CIC has denied @OfficialSauravD permission to attend the show cause hearing scheduled for tomorrow and he has not been provided access to the documents being submitted by government officials. 3/n
According to the CIC Registry, the show cause hearing is a “matter between the Commission and the respondents and the presence of the complainant is not required.” 4/n
However, as @OfficialSauravD explains: "It is extremely important that the Appellant or complainant is allowed to witness his own case proceedings to ensure that the concerned officers do not mislead the Commission into believing something that may not be entirely true." 5/n
We sent a legal notice to the CIC on behalf of @OfficialSauravD last Thursday but we have not received any response till date. With the hearing scheduled for tomorrow, we urge the CIC to decide this issue promptly and fairly! 6/n
