An year ago, a 18 year old CA Foundations Student was half asleep in a Business & Commercial Knowledge Class, 6.30-9.30 am, taken by a Senior Management Personnel in Chennai. She studied in ME and is my Shishya. Exceptionally bright girl. 2/n
Dozing off she heard a question posed by the Faculty
"Anyone here heard of Marketing Myopia"?
He was pretty sure no one would have, as at best some MBA Students will know this concept, and definitely not a +2 passed bunch of boys and girls 3/n

Class was quiet. Still in the twilight state between sleep and wakefulness, my shishya raised her hand
The Faculty was genuinely surprised to get a response and asked her to explain
"Sir, it is about defining what business you are in"

Faculty smiled instantly. Other students, most NRIs didnt understand what was being discussed.

Class gave the answers, Food, Satisfaction, Lifestyle and so on.
She listened patiently and told them they were incorrect

She explained patiently "In olden days, McDonalds purchased small properties downtown but mainly in junctions where Roads meet at throwaway prices. 7/n

She told she remembered my explaining this while she was doing her 11th Standard when talking about Strategic Management.
She couldnt wait for the Class to be over to call me and say with pride how she remembered the concept and narrated what happened 9/n

She was swelling with pride and so was I, as I took only a 3-4 minutes to explain this Concept to her couple of years back.
I am blessed to have some worthy Shishyas in my life and she tops the list in more ways than one 10/n
