I have a very lengthy vetting system for people I let in my life, and I used to think it was a little arrogant and standoffish....but you know what? It’s not. There’s nothing wrong with valuing your time and energy. Actually, PLEASE value your time and energy.

I just think a lot of us feel pressured to be extremely extroverted and available to all (which isn’t bad, I am friends with MANY people like this), but it’s not how everyone operates and you shouldn’t feel bad or wrong if you don’t fit that image.

Also if you’re worried about scaring people off, the right people will always respect your pace and boundaries. Never sacrifice that.
