Just bc a white person lives on a college campus for a couple semesters does not mean that they inherently know a lot about the depths of the racism at said college. /1

Using your years of living at W&M to say or imply that I, bc im not “actually at W&M” bc im remote, do not have the same credibility as u to discuss the racism of W&M is fairly insulting. Implying that bc im remote i must have no idea what im talking about is just rude /2

This isn’t calling out one incident. I have had multiple instances where yt upperclassppl have patronized me bc since I’m remote, I must have no clue what the reality of racism at W&M is like. Or where yt upperclass ppl will whitesplain other stuff. /3

Throwing the fact that I am a remote learning freshman, which is not only a difficult experience for me but in this time in my life is rlly stress inducing, back at me to gaslight me (regardless of ur intent) is pretty foul. That is a really crass move and I am not here for it /4

I single out yt upperclassppl bc while yt freshppl have a whole host of other issues that im not gonna talk about, yt freshppl do not assert the same type of petty authority over me to gaslight/patronize me. Idc how much older than me u are, your behavior is sometimes petty /5

I am tired of yt Tribe using how they are a year older than me to pretend that I have no clue about the racism of W&M and that I should defer to them bc they are/were “on campus” to understand these things. Its tiring when ppl use my remote status to gaslight and otherize me /6

I am not gonna go in-depth to explain my experiences at your request as to justify my anger. My time/energy is not free, and if you cannot respect that and reflect yourself, thats a you issue. I’m sorry if this thread isnt very coherent, im frustrated bc...

...i have to spend time explaining my frustrations w yt upperclassmen asserting a petty authority over me as I have finals tmrw. I didnt ask to have to deal w this behavior, but when some ppl use my remote status against me then I’m not gonna let that slide. /end
