What my medical student colleague might not know is that I saw him go back into the room alone to comfort a patient after a painful procedure. I heard him complement her strength, answer her extra questions, and thank the nurse, by name, that he just met for her work. (1/3)
I heard him ask the Fellow if he could grab me a stepping stool because he noticed I couldn’t see very well while I was scrubbed in. I watched him advocate for me to be more involved in cases even though it was him on elective. (2/3)
I knew he stayed extra late to finish up because he had spent time that day orienting me to my Urology rotation.

Why isn’t there a tick box on evaluation cards for behaviour like this? (3/3)
Thank you for setting an example of compassion and for looking out for me @LucshmanR. You introduced me to my Surgical Rotation in the best way possible, and you probably didn't even know it
