I've tweeted earlier about Eret possibly adopting Fundy
So I wanted to share my thoughts on it
(Disclaimer: the relationships I'm talking about in this thread are only relevant to Dream SMP; I'm not talking about real people, obviously)

First of all, I haven't seen the actual clip of Eret saying it (btw if someone has it or can tell the time in the VOD around which he says it, please tell me or send the clip)
But from what I can see, the main reason is legal, which makes sense
Fundy won't be an orphan -

anymore
And Eret will have legal family, which is important since he's kinda up in the air right now on the SMP
I mean, he's been dethroned and while he's on L'Manberg's side, he has to restore relationships with some of its citizens
So having Fundy as a legal family -

Would certainly strengthen his position
So yeah, in case this adoption is purely for legal reasons, their dynamic won't really change

If they will actually shift into more family-type dynamic, it won't ever be the type of dynamic we've seen between, for example, Wilbur and Fundy

Like, it's obvious but I still want to point that out
Mainly this is because their pre-existing dynamic is already so different
Wilbur mostly either babied Fundy or was hostile towards him (after the election)
He mostly ignored the way Fundy actually was -

and didn't look at him as equal, which is understandable
But Eret does
They fought side by side until Eret's betrayal
And they also had this whole prank war going on, which was battle between equals in my opinion
So I believe Eret does see Fundy as someone equal -

to him and realises his actual abilities
And Fundy does too, because Eret's the only one he comes to with his plan to be a spy after the elections
Their pre-existing dynamic makes it impossible for them to have a father-son relationship
For me, Eret would be more of-

an older brother or maybe a cool uncle
So yeah

I don't know what's the point of this whole thread
But I'm excited to see the changes to their dynamic (or even lack of them!)
I really hope Eret at least proposes the idea of adoption to Fundy

Even if Fundy says no and gives his reasoning, it'll still be cool
And if it actually happens... Well, it'll be very interesting!
