If the GOP is being intransigent and refusing to accept the results of an election, your two options aren’t “do nothing” and “convince Republicans to behave better.”

You can also take the majority of the country on your side and rally them against the sedition on the other side
Is that an ugly solution that’s unpredictable? Sure is! But the alternative - holding back because you can’t find an airtight plan that will 100% guarantee a positive outcome, and thereby losing ground and maybe the whole war - is even worse, pure McClellanism
