All the dissident right people – especially those over 50 – who foam about how Trump is a nothing remind me of the old joke about the elderly guy faced by oncoming floodwaters.

The cops come and tell him to evacuate. Three times. He declines and says he'll trust in God.

Then, as the waters drive him to the second story, locals in a boat come by and offer to carry him to safety. He declines and reiterates that he'll trust in God.

Later, on the roof, about to be engulfed, a rescue helicopter arrives. Again, he declines.

Finally, he's swept away by the floodwaters and dies. He goes up to heaven and the first thing he says is, "God, I trusted in you and you let me down!"

To which God replies, "I sent 3 cars, a boat and a helicopter".

For those who claim Trump's a nothing and a fool – especially those over 50 – I have to ask: COMPARED TO WHAT? COMPARED TO WHOM?

Anyone who thinks Trump is just like the rest of them clearly hasn't been paying attention – FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIVES.
