Take the total US deaths in the War in Afghanistan PLUS the Iraq War (the ones that have gone on for two decades), subtract 1,767, and you get to how many Americans have died of Covid.

Since Tuesday.
If trends continue, maybe a bit before the anniversary of the FIRST covid death in the US in late February, the country will surpass the total American death toll from WORLD WAR II.
In terms of positive covid tests, the US will likely surpass the 16 million-plus people who served in the military during WWII before that.

Meaning, serving during WWII is still slightly more deadly than testing positive for covid. But not by much.
It will only be a few weeks before US covid deaths surpass US Vietnam War deaths... times FIVE.
Here's another way to look at it: Since the very first US covid death in late February, the country has seen a new 9/11's worth of death every 75 hours.
Anyway, consider staying home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, the vaccines are on their way.
