(1/11) Following on from last week's thread about why Maisie hit the B2...

Here's another thread about why she was in the B2 AGAIN - as well as a brief commentary on other contestants and why online polls aren't a very good measure of popularity.

Question: What are the differences between the dance and Maisie's styling between this week and last week when she hit the B2?

Answer: Not much.

(3/11) Again Maisie was given a fast-paced Latin, a style that requires confidence to pull off (Problem is, in the eyes of middle-England, Maisie's confidence = arrogance)

This is the week they should have pared it back, had her in a non-revealing dress, doing a Waltz. #Strictly
(4/11) It goes without saying, but Maisie will take this B2 personally again. It's said she was in tears last week.

Despite joint-2nd best dance from the judges, she can't escape the fact the public don't like her, at 19y/o, or any age, that must be very hard to take.

(5/11) There were high hopes for Caroline that never materialised, she never had a 'WOW' moment. As the series progressed she became (for want of a better phrase) increasingly hysterical.

The arm-licking thing went too far, didn't go down well, the public had enough. #Strictly
(6/11) Many (inc. myself) thought Clara might be in trouble after the pasting she received.

It's the first week that our stats failed badly. Our run of FB stats getting a perfect B2 each week broken. But there were clues that Clara might not be completely down-and-out this week.
(7/11) Clara was bottom on Facebook, Twitter, Twitter Live & Instagram. But look closer at her 'To Win' Tweets on Twitter Live.

Evidence suggests despite many not liking her dance this week, they still support her in general, I'll explain why. #Strictly

(8/11) Stats are added to the 'To Win' column if someone Tweets they want a contestant to win OR...that they're going to vote for them.

Reading through the Tweets I noticed a LOT of people saying they were going to vote for Clara. It's this additional support that saved her.
(9/11) Finally, in the absence of moles, a few people have set up #Strictly polls to determine which contestants will be B2.

So far these polls are proving fairly useless.

This is a fight TellyStats has battled for the 4 years we've been live and I can tell you why they fail.
(10/11) Getting a high sample on the net isn't difficult, getting a RELEVANT sample is the challenge.

It's why we have stats from different social media sites with different demographics.

Online polls won't tell you who people are or where they've come from. #Strictly
(11/11) Not only does TellyStats generally get a higher sample size than polls, it also gives around half a dozen angles to view the data.
You can then work out the overall situation with CONTEXT.

Polling doesn't allow that and it's why it's probably not that helpful. #Strictly
