These gringos telling us about "Latinx" fundamentally misunderstand that Latinidad is a myth, our culture is not a monolith, and the US is a valid country within the LatAm diaspora with its own culture. Not everything that we do here needs to be validated by other LatAm countries
Beyond that, the discourse on gender is much more advanced in th US than other LatAm countries, just like LatAm is generations ahead of us on class discourse. And we will continue to learn from each other
Language will continue to evolve to fit our communication needs. And it& #39;s really hard to break down the gender binary in a language that has grammatical gender. There are hundreds of conjugations that we need to figure out. And the X ending is just one of many that we are testing
For the record, the X ending is not really that different than the @ ending, except that it breaks the gender binary
Also, to claim that people in LatAm aren& #39;t also testing new was of being more gender inclusive is completely false. These gringos also are missing the class analysis. A lot of Latinxs in the US and are disproportionately poorer and have lower levels of education. And we are somehow expecting them to have time to learn and think about how to be more gender inclusive??
Give me a fucking break. Stop pitting Latinxs against each other. Maybe if everyone had healthcare and access to college and equity more people would have time to think about what words they use to be more inclusive
Grammar is a colonial concept anyways. Can you get your point across? Great. I don& #39;t fucking care what ending you use. As an enby myself, If you are trying to be inclusive, I love it!
This is just another example of white men not staying in their lane. Stay in your lane, white men! And how about you let us figure out our own issues with our language. I promise you that we& #39;re working on it! We don& #39;t need your unsolicited advice
