Coming into the offseason, the #Grizzlies had two clear areas of need in terms of depth and talent: secondary playmaking and shooting. They have taking significant steps in addressing those areas this week, especially in the front court. #GrindCity

A small thread
In the 2020 draft, Xavier Tillman was arguably the best passing big. Killian Tillie was arguably the best shooting big. Though he has not played since the 17-18 NCAA season, Jontay Porter produced above average metrics in these areas as well. #Grizzlies #GrindCity
This is also just coincidence. This is exactly what should be expected from Taylor Jenkins, and for good reason. Coming from the Mike Budenholzer tree, Jenkins had experienced years of good shooting and playmaking from bigs in Milwaukee and Atlanta. #Grizzlies #GrindCity
After coaching significant frontcourt talents such as Al Horford, Brook Lopez, Giannis, and Paul Milsap under Bud, many of whom were highly skilled at either shooting and/or playmaking, it should no surprise that Jenkins unlocked those abilities for JJJ and Clarke. #Grizzlies
Now, Jenkins has significant depth and talent to work with when it comes to playmaking and shooting in his front court to implement his ideal offensive schemes, much of which is centered on reliable shooting and passing everywhere. #Grizzlies #GrindCity
With the improvement of JJJ and Clarke last year, there is plenty of reason to be confident in Jenkins getting the most out of Tillman, Tillie, and Porter. In time, surrounding Ja and JJJ with this versatile depth is a great way to maximize their style of play. #Grizzlies
