If it makes you mad so many people are gathering for Thanksgiving despite a raging pandemic, consider boycotting Thanksgiving this year and dedicating your day to helping people in some way.
You can do this from home by checking on all of your friends and making sure they have enough to eat and enough emotional support. Or by finding charities to donate to and putting together a plan to help that you will act on.
You can volunteer with your local food bank, in a high exposure role if you feel safe doing so and can quarantine after, or in a no contact role like food delivery if you cannot.
(Food banks will likely need the most help Monday through Wednesday, though, so you may wish to do this earlier.)
I don't have a long list of ideas here because I chose food insecurity as the issue I plan to focus on, but I welcome other ideas in this thread, especially since not everyone has the privilege to be able to do certain things like donate or volunteer.
