Normally, I don't tweet about Cuba. Today is a sad day. A group of Cuban artists, journalists, and scientists are striking against the government. Among them, Oscar Casanella is a scientist that has suffered multiple times the oppression in Cuba and the lack of freedom of speech.
Oscar is a Bioinformatician. He was working in cancer immunology when he was fired from the National oncology institute, because of his political opinions. Since 2016, Oscar hasn't been able to work as a researcher & in contrast to many other Cuban he refuses to leave the country
The Cuban government is the longest and oldest dictatorship in the Western hemisphere. Is important to know the reality of the country, while people know only about Cuban doctors, internationalism, etc. The reality in the country is more complex, no economic/human rights.
If you don't know anything about the country or you are interested to know more, please comment in this thread, I can try to explain the situation. Please RT is important. !!! Todos con Oscar @oscarcsb !!!
