Just so lovely - a rare copper-alloy bucket found at Breamore, Hants., made by a master craftsman, perhaps in Antioch, in the 6thC and sent across early #medieval Europe (1)

The frieze around the top of the bucket shows 3 naked warriors armed with spears, shields, swords and a discus, fighting a leopard and a mythical beast or bear. The inscription in ancient Greek around the top of the bucket reads ‘Use this, lady, for many happy years’. (2)
Here’s one of the other two found in Britain - this one from Sutton Hoo https://twitter.com/nt_suttonhoo/status/1325413760836788224
And this is the 3rd, from Chessell Down on the Isle of Wight - with a punched frieze of deer-hunt among trees, a dog and a leopard, although in this case the inscription is in runes, perhaps in Old English https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/H_1867-0729-136
