/ Finally got around sharing the news that I will be joining the next @beondeck founder fellowship: #ODF7

I'm excited because this is what I have been looking for since I decided not to pursue an MBA two years ago...
/ Two years ago I got sponsorship for my MBA from my employer. Despite the opportunity, I was not sure if it was the best option for me, given I had a goal to start a company soon
/ The MBA value prop is the network (any MBA alumni will probably agree with this). But most top-tier programs have less than 20% of people starting companies
/ If you do the math, that is ~100 people in a 500 people program. At a cost of ~$200k, that is $2k per person that would matter to me
/ What you pay for is the curation generated by the admission process. This reduces the cost of validating the caliber of individuals in the network (vs. a meetup for example)
/ There is great value in this curation, but I was not sure if it was the **best option**. Or was there a better path out there that I did not know about?
/ I wasn’t convinced, so I spent some time developing my skills in startups. I gained invaluable experience, and finally decided to take the leap and start my own venture based on ideas I developed during this time
/ And when developing a network of entrepreneurial peers mattered more than ever, and doing so became more challenging due to COVID, I was lucky to find out about the OnDeck fellowship
/ Let's compare it to an MBA: 200+ people that want to start something in the next months at a price-tag of $2k, that is $10 per person. If your focus is meeting entrepreneurial people, that is 200x cheaper than a top-tier MBA.
/ Plus way lower opportunity cost and the fact you don’t have to navigate an MBA program to find the subset of people and resource that matter for entrepreneurship
/ IMO a better choice than an MBA if you value the experience of building something over a bschool credential. This is why I call this the MBA for doers.
/ Thanks @eriktorenberg, @julianweisser, and @david__booth for creating this. Can't wait to get started!
