Every intersection in Oregon is a legal crosswalk, whether marked or not. Yet you mention he was not in a *marked* crosswalk without mentioning that marked crosswalks are half a mile apart at this location! 2/

6th St is designed like a gun barrel: long, straight, and wide encourages drivers to travel at lethal speeds. This is #uncivilengineering at its worst (or best? @KostelecPlan?), but no mention of @CityOfRedmondOR responsibility to provide safer ways for people to cross 3/

A 2018 @GMC Yukon is basically a wall on wheels. Multiple studies find that vehicles like this are 2 - 3+ times more likely to kill a pedestrian when they strike them.

We've got to change the way we talk about car crashes @redmondpd @KTVZ @thebulletin. Beds at @STCHealth are routinely filled with trauma victims of car crashes.
