i think the most important growth ive made this past year or so was realizing i don& #39;t need to prove that i& #39;m "a good fat person" by being healthy in order to deserve to be treated with human decency
watered down body positivity loves the narrative of "it& #39;s ok to be fat ~as long as you& #39;re healthy~!" Like... it& #39;s ok to be unhealthy too. Some people are chronically "unhealthy." Some people will never be what our society deems "healthy" and that& #39;s ok.
None of those things mean people don& #39;t deserve respect, kindness, human decency, a livable wage, a place to live, food to eat, healthcare, etc. You either care about people or you don& #39;t.
Reading over this thread makes me feel crazy like I& #39;m literally gaslighting myself like "nobody thinks unhealthy people deserve to die!" when I know there are plenty of people who absolutely do, lol
