i think the most important growth ive made this past year or so was realizing i don't need to prove that i'm "a good fat person" by being healthy in order to deserve to be treated with human decency
watered down body positivity loves the narrative of "it's ok to be fat ~as long as you're healthy~!" Like... it's ok to be unhealthy too. Some people are chronically "unhealthy." Some people will never be what our society deems "healthy" and that's ok.
None of those things mean people don't deserve respect, kindness, human decency, a livable wage, a place to live, food to eat, healthcare, etc. You either care about people or you don't.
Reading over this thread makes me feel crazy like I'm literally gaslighting myself like "nobody thinks unhealthy people deserve to die!" when I know there are plenty of people who absolutely do, lol
