The middle ground is that Sidney Powell is a complete fool, who has allowed her ideological biases to destroy her ability to think critically about the facts. https://twitter.com/Pragmatictakes/status/1330045227319619584
Ramsland reached that conclusion by confusing Michigan with Minnesota, and then misunderstanding what the "estimated voters" column in the Minnesota Secretary of State's data meant. Yet Powell never even bothered to check Ramsland's work to see if it was true (or even plausible).
The whole premise of Powell's "case" is that careful analysis of the voting data can show that votes were flipped from Trump to Biden. Yet the guy she cites is so *careless* that he couldn't tell the difference between MI and MN.
If Powell had taken even a few minutes to actually scrutinize Ramsland's numbers with an open mind, his mistakes would have been obvious.
Most obviously, Ramsland says in his affidavit that Wayne County, Michigan, has 47 voting precincts/townships. Wayne County has 1.75 million people. And yet Ramsland, and Powell, thought it had just 47 precincts where people could vote?
In fact, the city of Detroit alone has more than 500 precincts. Had Powell taken even a second to think about the contention that Wayne County has 47 precincts, she would have realized it was utterly ridiculous.
But she didn't, because she found Ramsland's conclusions too congenial. They were, as journalists like to say, too good to check. And so she parroted his falsehoods about overvotes at the press conference (along with the more sinister nonsense about vote switching).
The point is that these are not serious people engaged in a serious attempt to analyze the 2020 election results. These are people marshaling whatever "evidence" they can find, regardless of whether it makes sense, to "prove" a conclusion they have already decided is true.
