Absolutely fed up of people on and on at one of our greatest ever sportsman. The main arguments seem to be:

HE DOESNT PAY TAX

Yes he does. He’s in the top 5000 tax payers in the country and pays more in a few months than we do in a lifetime.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE CAR

The old adage is always ‘isn’t it weird how the best drivers end up in the best cars’. Hamilton has won a race in every season he’s been in F1, including in many seasons where he hasn’t had the best car. As a rookie he outperformed a multiple world champion

in the same car. Since then, he’s comfortably had the beating of team mates with the exception of one year against Nico where he had an insane amount of bad luck, including a brand new engine blow in Malaysia which would have seen him comfortably bring the title home.

It’s an argument that is even more pathetic when many people suggest how much better others, like Schumacher, Senna, Alonso etc are. How often did those drivers win without the best car?

It’s not really different to world footballer of the year awards going to players from the top teams who have the best support networks, to Olympic teams with better funding winning more gold medals etc etc etc.

The best drivers also help develop the cars and give vital feedback to enable improvements to be made.

HE SUPPORTS BLACK LIVES MATTER

Anyone who has an issue with this is ridiculous. He’s standing up for something he feels strongly about. If you don’t like it, fine, but that takes nothing away from his talent as a sportsman.

He’s one of our greatest ever sportsman and deserves to be recognised as such. He’s a hero of mine and will forever be. If you don’t like him, fine, but don’t rubbish incredible achievements with either lies or racism.
