When I left that job and started my current role it took me quite a long time to shift out of a mindset of always being defensive or evasive and thinking people were purposefully trying to trip me up or make me look stupid
Also I don’t expect managers to be robots but being managed by someone who constantly projects all their personal upset or weird jealousy onto you is poison and managers who do that need to check themselves. The people you line manage aren’t your experimental therapy group.
