@Craig_Simpson_ and others seem to quite.. like slavery?
Anyway, this click-bait is behind a paywall so here I am.
1. I can’t find any so-called “dossier” and there is no reference to what the @britishlibrary is *doing* rather just writing down lists, apparently.
2. The link to the so called dossier and the @britishlibrary’s approach is just to this article, also by Simpson from August. Liz Jolly is spot on, and was also a joy at DCDC last year. Obviously, there’s no worthwhile comment on this.
3. Moving on... I quite like Ted Hughes and I didn’t know this, it’s amazing how national institutions can broaden your historical knowledge. Good advert for the BL thus far.
4. He still hasn’t established what the BL are actually *doing* but we’ll move onto one liners, shall we. Jonathan Bate, biographer, thinks this “tars” Hughes, what this is, is still left unknown. The last bit about a slave owner being a priest and scholar is laughable, at best.
5. Aha! Some content. Curators do research to establish provenance really screams cancel culture to me...
6. So... what’re we supposed to be angry about? This. This research. It really beggars belief. #LetsAllStartACultureWar
