a lot of negative press about wellington this weekend, most deserved but there's a lot that's fixable about it.
some suggestions...
- restrictions on vacant shopfronts on cuba+golden mile
- prioritise infrastructure costs (pipes, EQ strengthening) and not vanity projects

- education about intensification & losing our preciousness with preserving dangerous heritage buildings. gut their insides and keep the facade, but sitting on 7? fault lines we don't have the luxury of picking and choosing
- encourage @metlinkwgtn to implement the plan that was rejected re: low-cost busfares, to inject money financially into a network that desperately needs it to fix the GWRC's shitty mistakes
- re-engage with wellington's creative communities to revive that 'quirky wellington' spirit. a lot of it has come from them, and they feel ignored as especially wellington's CBD transforms more into corporate greymatter
i love this city to bits. wellington was the only city that could convince me to stop being a nomad and settle down. we have such an amazing place, but also some hard work in front of us
