Surabaya is capital of East Java province , Indonesia. It is located on the eastern part of the island of Java and also includes neighbouring Madura and Bawean islands. Surabaya also the second largest city in Indonesia and a major industrial centre and port.

For ethnic groups, East Java is a melting port of the world. A dazzling dance many dancers sporting vivid coloured costumes is the dance known as Reog. Horse trance dance most common type of folk art and regularly practised. Malang renowned for it dances, including tari topeng.

Javanese batik is the peak expression of the decorative technique ofax-resist dyeing. Java has some of the oldest batik traditions in the world. The term "batik" ofiginates from Javanese mbat(throwing) and titik(dots), a nod centuries ago to ghe manual design of batik-making.

Javanese cuisine is the foods of the one of the most significant ethnic cultures in Indonesia. There are subtle foreign influences, perhaps the most recognizable being that of Chinese cuisine. The cuisine in Central Java is even sweeter than the already sweet cuisine if East Java
