Jerry Siegel was the creator of Superman and designed some aspects of the character from himself. As you can see he looks a lot like Silver Age Superman. Clark Gable (known for "Gone in the Wind") inspired Superman's name: Clark.

Jessica Cruz // Penélope Cruz

Jason Fabok took part in creating her original design and it's also noted that Penélope Cruz was her main inspiration. Eventually, her design was scrapped because of Rebirth and Jim Lee had to use the design we all know and love.
