𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝑵𝒂𝒐𝒎𝒊, 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒈𝒐 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝑰 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆.

𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒓, 𝑮𝒐, 𝒎𝒚 𝒅𝒂𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒓.

𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔: 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒑 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝑩𝒐𝒂𝒛, 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒇…

Naomi had become a disciple.  She has shown Ruth the word of God of the Hebrews and the precepts in Israel.  Ruth has come to know the instructions of God concerning gleaning of ears corn after reapers.

“𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒔𝒕, 𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓…

𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒈𝒐 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏: 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓, 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒅𝒐𝒘.

𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅, 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅: 𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓, 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒅𝒐𝒘.”…

…𝑫𝒆𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒚 24:19-21

These laws were given by God to Israelites. "𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒐𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝑵𝒂𝒐𝒎𝒊, 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒈𝒐 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓..." Her being a Moabitess was mentioned here as an emphasis.

Ruth the Moabitess will not know the law of the Lord God of Israel so much as to know she could lawfully go to the field and glean the edges, and not the centre, to glean after and not ahead of the reapers, she knew where to stand while gleaning.  She has been taught by Naomi.

Ruth would not have profited Naomi if Naomi had not discipled her.  She would have become a burden rather than the blessing she became.  The missing link in the Church today is lack of discipleship.

We have people who have joined us only to sing and shout in the euphoria of being a Christian but they lack the basic principles and precepts of the kingdom.  And they become burdens rather than blessings to the body of Christ.

Discipleship is God’s method of making men who will be useful to the kingdom, who will be able to weather storm and stand firm. Men who will possess the knowledge that would keep them standing at the centre of the will of God.

To increase the population of worshippers in a congregation without concerted effort at discipling them will result in disaster and the multitudes will be mixed, and murmurings will prevail.

I will advise every leader to be determined about discipleship. So also should every Christian make up their minds to submit to discipleship.  It is the only way to grow into the full measure of the stature of Christ.  It is the only means of attaining Christ-likeness.

Ruth became an asset to Naomi after she has learnt about the Hebrew God under Naomi.

LORD I CHOOSE NOT TO BE A CLOG IN THE WHEEL OF PROGRESS OF THE CHURCH.  I AM DETERMINED TO BE AN ASSET TO THE KINGDOM. I WANT TO BE A BLESSING AND NOT A BURDEN TO THE LEADERSHIP OF MY CHURCH.

I SUBMIT TO DISCIPLESHIP, SO THAT I MIGHT GROW TO THE FULL MEASURE OF THE STATURE OF CHRIST. LORD PLEASE SIT UPON MY LIFE, THAT I MAY BECOME WHAT YOU WILL HAVE ME BECOME IN YOUR HANDS, IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.
