In 1992, Donald Bartlett and James Steele wrote a book called America: What Went Wrong and this is the table of contents h/t @jongelbard
It showed the accelerating loss of the middle class with the expansion of the top 1%.
And it showed ow those earning above 1M (in 1992) had their incomes increase by 2,185% while everyone else was stagnant.
And it called it. They hijacked our government so they could hijack our economy and increasingly direct all benefits to a tiny few. AND THIS WAS IN 1992.

And yes everything has gotten worse for those that make less than $400,000 and/or have to actually hold jobs to live.
So here's to James Steele and Donald Barlett, and I'm sorry we didn't listen and I desperately hope we get this shit figured out.
