I’m asking bc I think you all really need to be careful what GoFundMes you donate too.

People are making $4,000+ in a matter of days by spamming their gofundmes but one quick check of the page shows it’s a new account, old bit acc, the story doesn’t match, obv stolen pics etc https://twitter.com/ijaadee/status/1330360208472879105

That shit really BUGS me too.

My tweet went viral so I got people doin copy/paste messages in my DMs to promo their gofundme under the tweet.

I check out the acc to see if it’s legit and it’s literally a bot acc that tweeted thousands of ads in 2017 and just—

—Started tweeting normally 2 weeks ago. The page has retweets & a BLM hashtag to look legit on the surface.

I check the GFM and the acc who set it up says they’re the person in the GFM but they called themselves a different name in the story.

There are no other replies to anyone on Twitter, no tweets of their own, just GFM spam + bot tweets.

Before you donate make sure to check out the page HARD bc ppl are good at making that shit look great on the surface.

Also be careful of people spamming donation tweets that only have a PayPal link.

Gofundme is a lot more professional and your-money friendly so if it’s caught as a scam you can get your money back.

Also click the PayPal link and check their PFP and name

Likely won’t match the person tweeting or will be a blank PFP
