NEWS: the Trump campaign has officially filed a petition for a recount in Georgia.

MORE: the campaign is legally entitled to request one, but a few notes:

Before certifying, Georgia did an audit (state law required) which amounted to hand recount of all 5million ballots.

GA officials hoped "common sense would prevail," satisfy everyone results are valid (1/2)

The recount process will be a machine scan of each ballot (not a signature match, as the campaign has requested).

As for cost - each county will have to pay for the manpower required to scan the ballots. (2/2)

There is *no* evidence of widespread voter fraud or irregularities. Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State has said this repeatedly.
