-Insecure work, low pay and lack of sick leave force young people (often migrants) to work multiple jobs without proper training and support. This has proven deadly in a pandemic

-3 delivery riders have been killed at work within a month in Australia, their families are barely not entitled to compo because they are employed on sham contract arrangements and not classed as workers.

-Coles, Woolworths, 7/11, McDonalds & Calombaris have all perpetrated #WageTheft on an industrial scale against young workers, stealing millions

-Sexual harassment, bullying & poor mental health at work is real, particularly for women, migrants and apprentices due to the power imbalance

Dehumanising workers as lazy, irresponsible, drunk failures as Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham do in this article helps justify and spread all the above practices.
