Difference between Oikawa and Atsumu: Oikawa doesn’t mind being perceived on a deep level, but finds it unnecessary. He’ll take it if he can, if he wants. Atsumu desperately wants that, but the emotional intimacy makes him recoil. To be loved in return is terrifying and unknown.
They interact with people in similar ways, but Oikawa is a people person. He either always has been or taught himself to be from a young age. So receiving love/praise/positive attention is nothing new to him. He might not always welcome it, but he has people skills and uses them
with ease. On the other hand, Atsumu is NOT a people person. Whether it’s intentional or not, oftentimes he comes off as an asshole by way of wording or action.

Next point: action vs. inaction. Atsumu does... a lot to and with people. He says things, does things. It’s too much
sometimes. For example, the fights. The arguments. Those are self-explanatory. Oikawa on the other hand, is faulted by inaction. His ex-girlfriend broke up with him because of his inattention. Sometimes it’s not enough.
So when both experience unconditional love outside of family, Oikawa has a better handle on it than Atsumu does. Oikawa handles it better because—well, he’s already had it all his life. He’s /had/ Iwaizumi, will continue to have him.

In this way, Atsumu has no one. Osamu is
there, yes, and he is a friend as much as he is family. But he’s family, and family can only do so much for a person and how they develop in love and all its precious little facets.

So this? /A care package? From someone completely NOT obligated to care?/

Of course he cries.

Please tell me what you think I am just brainrotting
to tell y’all the truth I have been thinking about this for weeks I just think it’s important to highlight the differences between Atsumu and Oikawa while acknowledging their similarities because while they’re same text different fonts it’s the differences that set the two apart.
