I’ve never been a fan of mandatory anything. For me individual freedom and being cognitive of the world around you matters more than a mandate.

Short version: I’m not a fan of the face covering mandates.
My belief is that people are cognitive and smart enough to look after each other and help flatten the curve. But I’m also not stupid.
For example, when I make groceries, I see countless people leaving carts in parking spaces, on the sidewalk, blocking the street. They don’t take the time to put the basket back where they belong.
What does this have to do with anything regarding mandates, Ryne?

Well, 80% of people are always going to put back their shopping carts at a grocery store. It’s the 20% that fuck it up for the 80%

That same thinking can be applied with face coverings.
The large majority of people will do what they’re told. They will wear the face covering and practice good social distancing habits.

And using a cartoon I remember from childhood, they’re going to be Gallant.
The 20% or should we say Goofus won’t comply. They believe that mandates are fucking with their freedoms. They’re the ones who protest at state capitols and try to sue the governor ( @AGJeffLandry is example)
That’s where mandates come in. The reason we have mandates is because the small minority of people won’t do the right thing.

The people that still hold superspreader events, the people that don’t wear face coverings properly, the ones who argue about MUH FREEDUMS
Those are the people that mandates are largely for /end thread.
