you know i normally don& #39;t care for this stupid kind of discourse but i want to say a couple thoughts on the ryne & gaia situation. i& #39;m 18 now, my birthday was in july, and i was wlw as a young high schooler...fairly recently

i feel like i should preface this with please do not rt or qrt this thread...i just want to talk about my feelings

i& #39;m not a lesbian and can& #39;t claim to speak for lesbians but just. as a wlw who spent more or less my entire time in hs dating a girl, who can recall being into anime where the more slightly explicitly wlw characters were weirdly sexual even in high school..

it& #39;s nice to see a 14~16 (guessing at that age range) year old couple that doesn& #39;t have any of that weird baggage or portrayal

i& #39;m not super into ryne or gaia as characters and i know that (especially due to its nature as a subscription based mmo) the vast majority of ffxiv& #39;s playerbase IS adults, most commonly 21+, but it makes me happy to see like...a totally positive relationship between two girls

it& #39;s not confirmed canon and it probably won& #39;t be but i really don& #39;t think there& #39;s anything wrong with people going :o! about it as long as they aren& #39;t weird about it, you know? it would have made me really happy then

if you& #39;re weird about either of them. it& #39;s on sight! but i just...it seems like such an ultimately *harmless* thing, you know? what bad can it really do to have two high school age girls just being a happy wlw couple? i don& #39;t know.
